~ Pink Saturday ~

Happy Pink Saturday!

Thank you Beverly for hosting this wonderful event! Please visit Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ to see a list of all the fabulous Pink Saturday participants.

Today I thought I would share another very special treasure. My Mother's china. Mother passed when I was three years old so this is extra extra special to me. It's nothing fancy, it's not from Europe, just simple china, ( I think from JC Penney's ) with the perfect touch of PINK.

I love this little tea cup~

Because it means so much to me I am too scared to actually use it. After I took these pictures and started packing them up, again. My daughter was horrified, I had to promise her that we would have a lady's luncheon and use this china. I did get her to agree to wait until spring. Trust me, she will hold me to my promise.

Now I can't have a Pink Saturday without PINK ice-cream....actually I had this Friday night but it still counts right? Marble slab strawberry ice cream ( with chocolate swiss on the bottom ) OOH LA LA....isn't life grand!

~ October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month ~

Also, please don't forget to go by Beverly's! You will find lots of Pink and some really great people. :)

Hugs to all ~ J.

That is a beautiful pattern! I don't care for too much fancy shmancy decoration on my china. This is just the right amount! How nice that you have it...I confess I won't use my grandmother's china yet either, I'm a bit of a clutz..shhh! Yeah, I've been down too, we need to do something to get everyone out of the blues....do more cartwheels?!!! yeah that's it! lol!!! Buffie : )

This pattern reminds me a lot of my mom's china. It's not exact but pretty close. It's beautiful. To answer your question - 13th. When's yours?

Happy Pink Saturday, Jessica. I'm so glad to read you have these pretty dishes to treasure from your mother. Get them out and enjoy them. I believe using them will bring you smiles.

And you know, I am going to be wanting some ice cream now. ;-)

Your china is lovely and special. I left my china packed up for quite some time after my Mom died, the china had been hers and she gave it to me shortly before she died. I lost my Mom to cancer. Eventually I put it in the china cabinet and use it for special meals. My Mom had always used it for special meals like Thanksgiving, etc. and it brings those memories back. She really could put on a meal and we always had a full table. My family consists of the three of us so quite a bit smaller.
Have a great weekend.

Betty

twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. so throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. explore. dream. discover.

Your dishes are very pretty, so unpack them and enjoy them, you never know what tomorrow will bring. Enjoy what you have, and love NOW!

Jessica, I am so sorry that you lost your mom at such a early age. It was very nice of the person that saved this china for you. I really think your mom would want you to use it. And think of her each time you do. It's beautiful!! What a treasure!!!
