I hung out w/Mister yesterday and joined him in our neighborhood parade.  We road on top of the fire truck and threw candy for the kids.  It was H-O-T but tons of fun.

Speaking of HOT….yeah I know. winks. =)  lol.

Bear is home on leave….he successfully  went through boot camp and his training. He will be going to his duty station in New Mexico @ the end of next week.  We’ve been able to spend some time with him….went for ice cream, talked on the patio etc.

Here is greeting Mister when he first arrived.

Doesn’t he look amazing in his dress blues?

We are so proud of our BEAR!

Saturday night our church had a patriotic performance and fireworks.  The sunset was amazing.

Some of our family was there including Biscuit and our baby Jade, who just moved home from out of state.

They thought Mister was a climbing toy…lol.

While we waited for fireworks….they watched for turtles.

~ A Thank You Note ~

Dear friends,

My family & I want to thank you for all your kind words regarding yesterday's post. This was a very bad house fire.

My family means everything to me, the fire department is my family....and all of you feel like family to me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about each and every one of you. You have shared your lives with me as I have shared my life with all of you. I will always be thankful for the friendships I have made here.

There was a victim in this fire...a male occupant of the house. Please add his family, our fire department family and my family to your prayer list tonight. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for everything~

Hero's Among Us~

Can you believe the sunrise this morning~ if you click to enlarge the photos you will see helicopters hovering. Early Easter morning Houston lost two of our finest. Captain James Harlow age 50, a 30 year HFD veteran and Damion Hobbs, 29 a rookie; who recently served a 14 month tour of duty in Iraq. There will be a memorial service today in their honor at a local church.

THE BRAVEST.

As the wife of a volunteer fireman ( 9 years ) and a former volunteer myself ( 4 years ) my heart breaks over the loss of these two men...they put their life at risk everyday doing what they believed in.....what they loved. Isn't it something how fireman go running into the fire while everyone else runs out. The firefighter/medical community really is a brotherhood....when one gets hurt or pays the ultimate sacrifice ~ we all feel it.

My thoughts and prayers are with their family today and always~
