~ Good Friends & Sweet Things ~

Hi friends~

I just wanted to pop in & say hello. I guess I've been taking a little blogging break. One week ago today Benjamin ( my bear ), Mister ( MY LOVE ) & I went to the dentist. I had 4 teeth pulled and a bone graph ( which soooo totally hurt ) I really don't like going to the dentist. I always cry. But Dr. F. is awesome....he really has his hands full with me. I'm his very favorite patient. ( winks. )So, despite feeling like a monster and looking like one when I'm cleaning my new gums...sigh. I'm doing okay. I'm learning to adjust to my new temporary teeth ( they look nice, thankfully...but hard to get used to. ) All I know is that the stitches are coming out Friday and that is a good thing because the thread is blue! Mister has been amazing like usual.....I tell you that man has put up with a lot from me over the last year.....okay 11 years...lol. Thanks Mister~ I love you.

Before I go back on my little break I just had to share....

Tootsie....my heart just sang......the turquoise crown....is dreamy. I've always wanted a crown and have long admired yours.....it matches perfectly with our 2 adirondack chairs in our back garden. Oh, I can't wait!! She also wrote me the sweet little note and included some family pictures~ YAY! What a treasure. Toots~ you are a gem....
a truly special friend.

I also want to thank Cindy for the sweet ( & hysterical )card you sent me & despite myself....

I did smile. Thank you friend....you always make me smile.

My blog friends always bring a smile to my face. I miss y'all a bunch and will catch up with you soon. I am going to continue my little break for a few more days.

~ A Note From Me~

Whew....I had a 'ruff' day yesterday. But, the doctor's think I'm going to be okay. I have to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life...but Mommy, Daddy & Sissy say it's okay there are lots of us { people} that have to take a pill everyday. I think it taste just like a treat! I have to go back in 4 weeks to see if my treat is working but everyone says I will be fine.

Thank you for saying a little prayer for me....I have many jobs to do. I have to guard Mommy's purse from those furry, good for nothing cats...ha ha. I also have to do sit ups with Daddy and I have to let Sissy dress me up.....I really like pink...particularly this dress. :)

See, I have lots to do!

P.S. Mommy is going to the doctor today for a check up after her last 2 procedures....she was pretty sore after pt. yesterday but has improved a few degrees since last week. The pain is still there ( burning and numbness ) but has decreased considerably. She is still having some lower back issues and problems w/her right hip. Which the disc issues are in her neck so I don't understand why her back & hip are swollen and giving her trouble. For about a month she has been walking funny. Sometimes, daddy has to carry her....like at the football game after Sissy danced: Daddy carried her to the car. It had been a long day for her, she had just gone back to work, so maybe that's why. Thank you, for thinking of her and being her friend. She is strong and will persevere....but your friendship sure does help.

~ Sammy the Guinea Cat ~

So, Sunday afternoon...the Genius' boyfriend, 'bear' had a project to do for class. He is in college and studying to be an EMT-B and plans to go through the fire academy in January. Mister was helping him practice taking blood pressures, pulse etc. Eventually they needed another patient...NOT ME...I'm tired of being a patient :) Sammy....volunteered....sort of.

Here is....sweetly minding his own business....

Then Mister is demonstrating how to hold c-spine...you can also check the patients air way, like this.

{ I promise Sammy was not hurt during this project....he is so easy going he purred the whole time } Look at his head...it looks so small...lol.

Afterward....the patient was just fine....

but later decided he needed a bandage...lol.

I wanted to thank all of you for checking in on me. I am doing better....I'm in physical therapy and doing the 'at home' exercises, which basically constitutes pushing on the bulging disc....not fun. I've also been back at work since last Thursday. I'm not able to turn my neck all the way on either side but have much more movement and the pain level has decreased....considerably. I am experiencing numbness and tingling...down my arms and hands and it radiates to my legs. My hips & lower back stay sore....but my neck feels better { weird isn't...lol. } It isn't anything I can't handle though....your outlook & attitude are everything I believe. With the love & support from my family who I owe soo much, too....and with all of you....I can deal with this. I will be having my last round of injections this Friday. Thank you all again....for everything.

This week I'm going to share some random pictures I took in our backyard. I just love when we have a nice breeze ( haven't had one in awhile though...lol. ) The wind chimes sound so pretty. We have 3 of them in different sizes that are 'in tune' with each other. Kind of like the 3 of us. :)

~ 199 & a half ~

I'm calling this post 199 1/2 can I do that? Ya'll sure you don't mind? :) First I wanted to thank everyone for being so supportive of my little blog....it's just a peak into my everyday life, things I love....sunrises, flowers, butterflies & my family. I'm so glad I get to share it with you.

Dear friends,

My family & I want to thank you for all your kind words regarding yesterday's post. This was a very bad house fire.

My family means everything to me, the fire department is my family....and all of you feel like family to me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about each and every one of you. You have shared your lives with me as I have shared my life with all of you. I will always be thankful for the friendships I have made here.

There was a victim in this fire...a male occupant of the house. Please add his family, our fire department family and my family to your prayer list tonight. I would greatly appreciate it.

Howdy Partners ~

Yep, you guessed it we've been @ the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo ALL weekend! So, I'm talking with more of a twang than normal...lol. More on the Rodeo on a later post. :)

Mister, the Genius & I all wanted to thank you for your birthday wishes....he read EVERY single comment ( which is NOT normal ) for him. He was truly touched by all of your kind words and wishes. He loved the post & the song I have first on my playlist: Garth Brooks " You Move Me " has been one of our songs forever....Trust me when I tell you....he was moved....his heart is full.

Thank you ALL, so very very much!

You are the sweetest group of people~ EVER. Nikki, he gets so tickled when you call him 'HOTTIE" I almost can't stay in the room with him....lol. Really, he has no idea how beautiful he is....that's another good quality about him. My M-I-L got me on her comment....I bawled my eyes out. Thank you, Mom....you are all such a gift to me, too. Truly. I love you.

Now, before we went to the Rodeo ( to see Brooks & Dunn~ yep, I saw them...they rocked. Gl♥ria~ I sang so loud you probably heard me....I danced, too. :) The Genius & I had a few errands to run, cake for Mister, the Genius got him a special book etc. Then we HAD to stop at Hancock Fabrics & lookie here what we found!!

I bought 2 of these birds @ $2.50 a piece....

Isn't he sweet sitting there on my bedside table. :)

Then we found 2 more birds. Same price.

I just love them....



This little sign was $6.00. it's sitting on the stove for now...but I'm sure it will be moved many times before it finds it's permanent place. :)

~ Like Mother, Like Daughter, Like Daughter ~

Hi friends~

I wanted to thank you for all your kind comments on our guest room~ it really means alot to us. The room holds some very special memories and I'm so glad I could share it with all of you. ♥♥♥♥

Now for a little story~

My Mammaw has always been notorious for leaving her keys hanging in the front door~ ever since I can remember....you know as Moms, wives, shoppers ~ we usually come in the door with our hands full. Have to turn off the alarm, let pets out, answer the ringing phone etc all while juggling things in our hands. I have picked up this habit~ ( although the keys aren't hanging there for long ). I like to just leave the storm door closed w/the door open to let some light in the house but I have actually closed and locked the front door behind me with my keys hanging in the lock~grrrr. The genius is the one that has gotton onto me the MOST about this~

Look what the genius did the other day~

Yep~ that's her keys! She walked out of her room while I was taking the picture and she said: " You're blogging this aren't you? " I said " Yes, I am ~ as any good Mommy would do....lol. " The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it~

We know this isn't a safe practice but I still thought it was funny. :)
