It's almost here, a peek at our home & tassels

Thanksgiving is almost here....just one more day to work & I'm off until next Monday....YIPPPEEEE!! Mammaw is coming in tonight and will be here until Friday. I've got her room all ready....favorite blankets set aside and a whole package of fig newtons. I've cleaned, dusted, washed, ironed, did a little touch up painting....I'm pooped. Am I ready for 25 guests? Oh, I hope so....how am I going to fit 25 people in here.....it will be cozy. :)

Some of you may have seen my breakfast room.....on RMS.
It made a brief appearance. :)

Yep, it's small I know :)

I like the charm of our little pie hutch. It's been painted many, many times :)

Our living room.......

Scented candles & pecans....

Another view ( & Riley )

My Aunt painted the 'feux' tree behind Riley's cage....that way he can't eat it

View from the breakfast room

The living room had a 2.8 on RMS. I was horrified.....but I'm not scared to show ya'll.
I've done the best I could w/ limited space, budget & a very HUGE bird cage.
I'm proud of our little place. :)

The temp. is supposed to be about 74 on Thursday so I'm going to use our patio....I have a large folding table w/ a cream table cloth. That I plan to put food, drinks & desserts on. If the weather agrees it should be okay. We'll just spread out all over and eat on paper plates....is that tacky? My dream is to have a large dining table and eat on china. That's what we did when I was growing up. But my little house is just too small to accommodate that kind of a table. So, we'll just have to enjoy the closeness....lol.

I am looking forward to the early bird sales Friday morning.....Kristin & I wake up at 3:00am and are standing in line by 4:00am. We usually stop for breakfast about 9:00 and head home to unload our goodies and attic.....it's bursting at the seams with Christmas items. Then we have to move our breakfast table to the garage so we have room for our tree....ooohhhh I can't hardly wait!

Ya'll know Nancy @ http://southernlady-nancy.blogspot.com? Well her blog is amazing, I love her decorations, ideas, her home.....and she is soooo super sweet! I ordered 2 tassels from her ( I had to....they were calling me ) just look at how gorgeous they are!

This is Ruby....

Her new home is in the guest room.....Mammaw will be staying in here.

Sorry, these pics are a little dark ( I took them at night )

I love this pillow....actually I love ALL these pillows

Okay back to the tassels......

Introducing.........Mr. Rooster!

Isn't he handsome? He is a perfect fit in our kitchen!

You better believe I hugged & kissed them.....rolled out the red carpet and welcomed them to their new home in style! :)

I also borrowed her picture frame idea.....I added ribbon and a broach and ta-da..... isn't it adorable? I may be addicted to this idea. Thank you Nancy!

Note: I removed the picture the picture on the left for the holidays....I just love the small dry erase board I purchased at Kirklands for $9.99. :)

I added a broach to Mammaw's picture frame, too. Yep, I love this idea!

Well, I guess that's all for now!
Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday week!

♥Bug hugs~ J.

Thank you! I enjoyed the tour around your house! And such a beautiful home you've got!!!
My house is kind of small too.. but it has room for us all, so we LOVE it here...
Loved the tree painted on the wall.. that was smart!! And didn't take a whole lot of space either! ;-)

Thanks for taking me on a tour of your lovely home! I found it to be a very charming and cozy home. HOME is the key word. When I looked at it it wasn't just a house but a home. I'm so excited you can take this time off to be with her family. We used to eat off paper plates at my mother's bz she would have 50+ people there at the end. Just too many of us to worry about all those dishes! Have a great holiday and I love the new tassels too! You don't see them around here but Rhonda at Scooterblu's whimsy made me one and I absolutely love it, it's still up bz it fit Thanksgiving too and not just Halloween! TTFN!

Jessica, I think you're going to pull it off just fine. People can move around from the garage, deck. and house. I have always loved this quote; "May our home always be to small to hold all our family & friends." You know how much I have always loved your home. I can't believe we let those troll at RMS get under our skin. But, it's our homes. Your home is so cozy, warm and filled with love. I am kinda of confused. Is Mammaw your grandma??? I have alway thought that she was. You fixed up her space in your home just perfectly. I love the extra little touches, Those are the things that come from the heart.
I have large rooms. But, not many of them. I would love to have Christmas here. But, I don't think I could pull it off. It's too cold to go outside or in the garage.
You are really going to be a busy girl. So, "Happy Thanksgiving".
