~ Christmas & More ~

Hi friends~

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great time....we had a large gathering here at our house.....about 32 people. Tons of food.....I of course ate WAY too much~ but feel very blessed that both sides of our family came over and everyone was in great spirits.

Before I share more I wanted to show you something I found the day after Christmas. We chose not to hit the big sales this year but we had to run a few errands & went to Kroger to pick up a few necessities.

Are these a necessity?

I think so.... :)

Adorable aren't they?

Look at the original price & the "manager special price"

Yep~ we got them for $9.99 each @ Kroger!

These little cuties were $3.50 each

That's all I bought.....Mister was proud of me. :)

Now on to Christmas~ We have a tradition every year. Mammaw reads " Twas the night before Christmas ". Usually I miss this due to traveling to visit other family & friends but this year, it worked out in our favor.

Then Christmas morning arrived, Molly always puts on her reindeer antlers....
She is Santa's helper you know :)

Mister puts on his Santa hat...

Then we head to the kitchen. I'll spare you the details of that but we cooked and then it took like 4 hours to clean after everyone left. :) But, I wouldn't trade this Christmas Day for anything in the world.

The day after Christmas we take all our Christmas decor down....growing up we always waited until after the New Year but we have found in our little place this works for us. So here are a few more pictures before it's all loving packed up until next year. :(

A few close ups.....

See that little crown Tootsie? I'll send it to you soon.

Yes, I really did purchase it for you. But, I borrowed it this year. :)

I just love this snowman....a special gift from a very good friend.

It's time to stuff all the ribbon....

Well, that's our Christmas~ I wish you all many blessings in the New Year!

Big TEXAS hugs from all of us~

J.

Those pictures are priceless!! I love all the bows on your tree. I've had people show me how to tie them but I still can't get it. Mine just don't look pretty! Now can I hire you to be my official bow tie-er?! Is that a word?! LOL! I'm glad you had such a good time and didn't even mind cleaning up after. I think we'll take the decorations down this weekend too. Just too much going on to leave them up. More details on that in a couple of weeks (I hope)! Me

Jessica, I loved all of your pictures. You and Mr. are just so.. cute together. Do you remember my post saying it was tradition for our mom to read "the night before Christmas' on Christmas Eve. We have so much in common. All... of my Christmas decorations are down and put away. Everything has been cleaned. And our regular decor is back in our house. I bought a few new decor items. I was a few more. Oh, I love your birdhouses. That was a good find!!
Hugs, Terrie

Hey Jessica!
Everything looks so beautiful and what a deal on the birdhouses...I love them.Girl, me and you are alot alike..... I usually take down everything the day after Christmas too, because of space. LOL! Since we got it up so late though, this year I'm leaving it up a little longer.

That is a beautiful picture of your Mawmaw and ya'll...and what a sweet traditon you have. How sweet that the whole family both sides could be there together. I am so glad you all had a wonderful day!

if there is one thing I want to remember from 2008 it is that we all got to move into the same neightborhood (blogland) and become such close and great friends. The rest can be forgotten...but 2009....will be filled with so much good...it is all up hill for me from here lady...and I am excited to share it with you and so many of my great ladies!
Happy New Year to you and the land of genius...from Tootsie, and the gang!

SCORE....AT KROGER'S no less! That just goes to show a GREAT shopper can find bargains everywhere! I headed to Memorial City Mall early and snagged MANY good deals and got the Heck out of Dodge before it got too crazy (BY noon on Dec 26!) On Dec 27 I headed to Meyerland and scored a bunch of great buys at JCPenny and Pier One! WOOHOO!!!! I'm not as motivated yet as you to take down my decorations but hope to have that done before NYE! Blessings to all ya'll!!!!! I'm glad you had a wonderful holiday!
