Just waiting....

Hi friends~

Remember this?

I just love the detail....

This is a piece of embroidery that Mammaw gave me about a month ago.....it hung in our living when I was growing up. Back then Mammaw said you didn't put embroidery behind glass....so you can see that it has yellowed over time. She embroidered this piece in the mid 70's.

The good news is My Mister took this to get custom framed at Michaels in early December. It was supposed to be finished by 12/16....he called to check and they told him it would be finished by Christmas, as this was my gift from him. Isn't he wonderful? Well, it's not finished yet but he was told it would be ready by Wednesday. Now that I know about it....I'm literally standing on my head to get it!! I know right where I'm going to hang it, too. :)

But for now~ I'm just waiting. :)

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs~ J

She has done beautiful work! How wonderful to have this piece from her and it means so much more bz she made it. You do have an eye for beautiful things. I can hardly wait until it's done for you too but I worry about all that blood rushing to your head as you stand on it until Wed. That's two more days away!!! LOL! I'm excited to see the post you do when it's finished being framed and to see where you hang it! Oh, I almost forgot, you got such a fantastic deal on your ribbon! You go girl! You're my kind of shopper. Cindy

Jessica, That is so.. special!! Your Mister is a wonderful guy. I do embroidery work, So, I know how much time went into this piece. I wish I had some of my work from the 70's. I did just recently pick up a set of dish towels to embroider. I want to get back into this art that is just about lost. I did just find a couple of things in my craft box that I'll share with you really soon.
Hugs, Terrie

It is so beautiful. My Mom use to embroidery, when we were kids we all did but I don't think I remember how now.
