~ Go Texan Day ~

HOWDY and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Guess what these are?

My cowgirl boots~ YEEHAW! ( cute huh? )

I was born and raised here in the great state of Texas~ I'm not what some would call a country bumpkin. I don't drink beer, chew tobacco or spit. I don't even ( really ) have an accent ( or a twang ) as some would say. Also it's not all farm land here and we don't have big balls of twine just rolling around everywhere either. :) Although some say if you drink the water here, you will get a bit of a twang...lol.

Today my office is participating in a great Houston tradition, called Go Texan Day. You can read the history on this special day by clicking the following link http://www.hlsr.com/et/sd/sd_gtxd.aspx

It gets me dreaming about bbq and belt buckles...lol.

Well, I've got to get my boots on and go to work. :) Have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs~ J

I'll be back to read the link about the history of it bz I am interested, especially since my SIL is a Texan! I love the story of The Alamo and actually memorized a poem about it in high school. Anything that is a true story about the human spirit arising and winning above all odds grabs my attention! Want to know something funny? Too bad, I'll tell you anyway! Some people have commented to me that they love my accent!! I'm from Utah, I don't have an accent, LOL! We do drop out "T's" sometimes and say "mounains" instead of "mountains" and "bouniful" instead of "bountiful." I always find it amusing when people tell me that bz to me I'm normal!! Have a fun "Go Texas Day!" Oh, one last thing, I'm really glad that you don't chew or spit!! It makes cleaning the floors pretty nasty!! Oh I forgot, you like to clean so never mind, LOL!!

Oops, "against all odds" not "above all odds."

Dear friend Jessica, I would never ever delete you, you're one of my most faithful visitors and besides that you make me laugh when you bring your cats to visit! Blogger has been a bit funky lately. I'm having trouble with it updating peoples posts for me so I've just been checking my list one by one bz it can be two days before a post shows up on my list and then I'm way behind. Hope you had fun today on your "Texas" day. Did your Mister cook you up some barbecue? I bet he's also a great cook, am I right? My husband makes omelettes and they're wonderful but that's it. No wonder he's so skinny! I'm just getting off work and my brain is once again fried so I'll talk to you tomorrow!
