~ Just Stuff ~

Hi friends~

I couldn't think of a title, today. So 'just stuff' was it. :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Valentine's Day! I cooked chicken fried steak ( no knife was necessary :), mashed potatos & green beans~ Mister brought these chocolate covered strawberries home.....I ate 5 of them.
I couldn't help myself...lol.

Daughter ( the genius ) brought me this rose~ I had to tease her though because I sent her to Walgreens to pick up pictures ( she got in my wallet, so she could PAY for the pictures, you know :) Then she came home with this rose. I was like Oh, thanks~ I bought myself a rose....lol. She knows I love it~ I don't own a 'bud vase' all my vases are large so I used a bottle, I thought it was kind of cute.
Thank you baby girl~ I love you!

We worked hard trying to get the guest room ( Mammaw's room ) finished before the weekend was over. We had many projects to work on... Here is another peek~

I spray painted the curtain rods~ black

bought a little lamp

Added some embelishment. It has some imperfections~ but it's okay :)

We got to a do a little shopping, too. That's the best part!

I'll show you the room tomorrow!

Big hugs~ J

I'm so excited to see this room! It will be perfect, even if only for all the love that's gone into it! At least your genius did something for Valentine's for you, even if you bought it yourself, LOL! That's the one flaw my husband has. He doesn't do holidays. I called him at work and told him I loved him. I gave him a gift (not much but still gave him one) and I didn't even get a Happy Valentine's Day phrase out of his mouth when he came home. I've learned to live with it. He wasn't that way when we were dating but somehow things slipped. I honestly am low maintenance and don't ask much of him. Oh well, that's just how it is around here. Maybe I'll have to turn into my mother and start buying myself Christmas gifts, etc. from him but I always thought that was sooooooo very sad. Oh well, he's good in so many other ways I can't really complain. How do you make your chicken fried steaks? I make mine coating them in eggs then coating them in crushed saltines (in the food processor) and cooking them in Extra Virgin Olive Oil with DeVerle's seasoning. Just curious how you do yours. {{Smiles}}

No, I had no idea he did that for a living. I grew up with dairy cows and mom and dad would butcher a cow when we needed meat. It was always so tender and good. I just can't buy meat that good anymore (maybe it's just childhood memory or how my mom cooked it). I sure could use lessons from him on how to buy a good cut! I'm going to try double dipping my steaks in the eggs and coating and see how it works. I've never heard of this seasoning either. But the seasoning I use is local also so you wouldn't be able to buy it. Guess what my husband does?.....he sells Hostess cake (Twinkies, cupcakes, etc.) but he's soon to be a bread man. With the changes from Ed's death my husband will have better/less hours, we just feel bad that this is how it comes about. I'll blog about it later when it's all set (probably). I'll let you use my sewing machine, fabric, cutters, etc. All you have to do is move next to me!! LOL!! You throw the barbecue I'll take care of teaching you to quilt!

Yummy! You fixed my favorite meal....country fried steak and gravy...I wish I had some right now, and it's only 7:08 in the morning! LOL! I could eat it anytime! That rose is so sweet and I love it displayed in the old bottle. Okay girl, now you've given away the secret of how you stay so tiny (you are so precious and little)...you eat choc. covered strawberries. I wish that would work for me! LOL! They look delicious. Would you believe I have never eaten a choc. dipped strawberry? I definately need to try those...Hope you have a great day!
