Happy Friday WOOHOO!
I've been working on changing a few things around here. ALL because of this~
This would not be my first choice of chair color but this chair belonged to Mammaw & Poppaw. They bought it in 1958 and it's been recovered 3 times. Mammaw said she didn't have room for it anymore and no one else wanted it so it's been in my garage since Christmas. Shameful isn't it? So, Wednesday night we started moving furniture around. :) Trust me when I say I have nothing blue in my home so I've tried to work it in someway. I've only been able to work on this at night since I work all day but it led to the purchase of these....
Aren't they sweet? Look at the bottom....
Then I got to bring this beauty out of the guest room and into the living room~ YEAH!!
This is my very favorite piece of furniture!
Cindy & Christie have good eyes~ peaking around the cats on yesterday's post...lol.
Now, I'm not finished tweeking this yet, I can't get good placement on the lamp due to the cord. See the painted tree on the left wall....this is formally known as Riley's corner and my Aunt hand painted the tree. Well, it no longer 'works' in our living room ( although it is beautiful ) I've got to paint over it.
I found this at Michael's yesterday for $5.oo.
I thought it would be perfect for pens etc. :)
Sorry, all the pictures are a little dark I took them late~ I hope to be finished this weekend. Any advice you want to throw my way would help. :)
I'll be posting Pink Saturday tomorrow~ please come by for a visit!
Have a beautiful day!
Lots of hugs~ J.
P.S. Riley update: He is doing great and we have plans for another visit this weekend. Eric & his family love him very much~ This was a good decision and we feel very lucky. But, he is sorely missed in our home ( just not in the living room....is that mean? ) Ya'll know I'm the biggest animal lover, probably on the planet. :)

mornin J, I'm off today so I'm making some stops. Can't wait to see the full view of your room, I love the little pillow on the chair, I'm a pillow person! I understand completely about Riley! Have a great weekend! xoxo
That desk is even more beautiful up close!! I love it and what a great find for you. Believe it or not I love the chair bz when you sit in it you can snuggle in and feel like your Poppaw or Mammaw has their arms around you giving you a hug. My grandma Annie had a chair that wasn't much to look at but I loved it. When mom passed on Dad gave it to me but two of my sisters threw a fit so I told him to give it to one of them. I loved it bz I used to watch Dark Shadows with my grandma and eat bananas in her mobile home that sat to the side of our house on the farm. Later she and the chair moved into our house when she could no longer care for herself. I loved her so much. My dad's parents died before I was born and my grandpa (Annie's husband) died when I was three so she's the only one I remember. She taught me to crochet on my fingers and got me hooked on General Hospital that I didn't quit watching until I was in my mid-20s! This chair makes me think of grandma Annie. I do have her gold compact with her name engraved on it though and a couple of other small things but it's not the same as getting a hug in her chair. It's all good though the memory of her keeps me warm. Have a very happy Valentine's day!
Jessica.. I'm a bit late in getting back around.. lots of doctors appts. for hubby..so I'm away quite a bit right now.. I'm so glad I finally have a chance to return your visit.. this desk is totally awesome...I love the chair..I know it brings out great memories for you. Isn't it funny how one thing leads to another.??? Looking forward to more picture. Happy Valentine's Day my friend..
hugs ~lynne~
Love all your the touches you put into things. I am really glad you could make the chair work for you. I like the pillow too.
Have a great day.

Oh what fun to see your pretty desk close up! Yes, Cindy and I were nosing past the kitties and spotted this beauty the other day! LOL! I Always have home decor on the brain! I didn't realize that those leaves were painted on the wall...that's so pretty! I thought it was a plant. That chair is a such sentimental treasure...looks pretty with the throw pillow and blanket throw too. I bet your Mammaw is gonna enjoy it in the guestroom, she's going to feel right at home, I'm sure. I love the new drapes with the ribbon tie backs! Sweet sweet! I'll be waiting for the big reveal on the guest room that you made for Mammaw. It's gonna be fun seeing all of the special touches that you add in there!
Hope you have a beautiful day sweet friend!
A Big Hug,
Queenie~
P.S. Glad that Riley is doing well....and I can imagine that you are enjoying the extra corner to put your desk in....Oh, and that's such a cute pencil holder!
Love the desk, the chair, and that adorable pillow. I'm with you on the whole Riley thing. I was so THRILLED to get rid of my hubby's parrots....and I love animals too. But dang those things are a whole lot of work, noise, and mess lol
