~ Friday Blooms & A Question ~

Just wanted to share a few blooms I found in our backyard last night~
I love the color of this lilly.

Plus you can see the FINAL stain color of our fence...it's all done~

Sorry our little gazing ball is a little crooked~

the butterfly bush is in full bloom~

We had to stake our tree again....I guess it didn't have time to recover

after Hurricane Ike....we're just glad it survived. :)

I love Society Garlic & yellow bells ( not the proper name :)

Please pardon the weeds ( & grass climbing in my flower bed )

Isn't that bloom gorgeous?

Now for the question~

My Dad didn't stain the arch for 2 reasons~

1. He didn't pressure wash it for fear of damaging my roses

2. The rose thorns are pokey...lol.

So, I told him I would stain it ( I'm smaller than him) but then I was thinking about painting it black. I planted lots of morning glory seeds and moonflowers to grow up the trellis so I want something to make it pop~

What do you think? What color? Something fun? Stain? Paint?

I hope to have a decision by Saturday morning as I'm ready to move on to more projects. :)

Have a GREAT weekend!!

♥ J.

GO for it!! Black will make it show alot more too!! :-)
I would do it!

Thanks for visiting me... I am doing fine, I am just soooo tired.. have been working alot, and feel like my house has been neglected for some time.. laundry etc... so I try to do as much of that as possible when and if I have a day off (like today) but back to work tomorrow...

The reason is that we have several people on sick leave right now... which means more work for the remaining 3!!! also days with only two of us working instead of normal 3 in a shift!...so it's been busy days!

Love the lily! That's my favorite color of lily and I have one planted in my rock garden in the front yard! I sure hope it comes back this year. I laughed about your comment about the gazing ball being crooked, I wouldn't have even noticed! I like the idea of black but it may peal off fast. My house is trimmed in black and I have to repaint or at least retouch every year. Painting is my least favorite thing to do ever so I'd probably go with the stain even though I like he black! I'm weird that way.

Jessica, I love your garden. The fence looks great.

About the trellis. If you paint it just be sure to prime it first. I think black would look great. But, you know me. If it were mine, I'd go for white. I think either way it will be beautiful.

Oh Jessica, I'm laughing my silly little self into oblivion here! You told me to have Larry practice his dancing for the wedding. Larry does not, or should I say, WILL NOT dance. Years ago when he was employee of the year for the entire northern half of Utah he had to start the dance out. He refused. I was humiliated when his boss and her assistant literally drug him out onto the dance floor to dance with me. Quite a few years after that when he was manager of the year he snuck out right after receiving his award so that he wouldn't have to dance with me. The sad thing is....I love to dance. Maybe this is why I love the movie "Shall We Dance?" I love the scene with Richard Gere dancing in the kitchen with his wife (Susan Sarandon) at the very end of the movie. I miss dancing and all it entails. I'm a hopeless romantic. Maybe in the next life......until then I'll just fantasize about Kiefer's kissing and Richard's dancing.

Hi J! Your Lawn and flowers always look so healthy and green, love it all! Its funny how many faces I can see in your fence pictures too! Now for this arbor, I would do it a bright fun color, like a pretty blue maybe, or turquoise. See, I'm country and always have to stay with traditional country greens and reds, But I love to see fun stuff in other peoples yards! Can't wait to see what you decide! xoxo

Your yard looks stunning!! I'm so jealous that you have stuff in bloom already. I'd worry a tiny bit about painting it black for fear that color would absorb so much sun it would bake your roses. Maybe that wouldn't hurt them...but I know how hot a black door gets and I would think it might be too much for the plants. Hmmm I bet Tootsie would know if that were the case or not.

I left you a message on my blog. The snow is built up to about an inch on the ground right now. AUGGHHHH, can you hear me all the way down there? Usually I can handle it but I really was in the mood to finish my project as I'm off work in about 40 minutes. Oh well, plan B......washing dishes (dishwasher broke a week ago and is not work fixing). With five of us here and Nicholas having friends overnight through the weekend the dirty dishes multiply worse than rabbits!! I sure hope they go out to eat for lunch tonight! I have to figure out what to feed them all on Sunday, any suggestions for a woman who just isn't in the mood to cook and dirty dishes? Eating out isn't an option on Sunday for me. HELP!! LOL!

Make that "worth fixing" not "work fixing" stupid fingers hit the wrong key!
