~ Blue Bedroom ~

Hi friends~

I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend has been the best I've felt in so long I decided to redo our master bedroom ( before my next procedure, on Friday ). I've been so inspired by the blues & whites....that I really wanted a change in our room. I wanted a tranquil & relaxing space.

The next 2 pictures are from magazines ( sorry for the poor quality )

I loved the pop of orange in this room...

& they used yellow in this room

I tried many samples of light blue but they all looked too feminine ( this is Mister's room, too :) No, powder blues weren't an option..... so Waterscape by Behr in satin finish was the winner!

Of course the Genius & Bear helped me~

She's happy when she works...lol.

Her Momma taught her to cut in....properly...no taping off for us. :)

This was Bear's first time to paint....so he rolled the walls & did a great job!! I did the cut ins at the crown molding....( yes, I got on a ladder and yes, I'm stubborn but it felt so good to be active again...just so you know I was watched very closely by my 2 lovebugs )

I chose to add a little pop of orange on the tables.... I always wonder when I look at pictures in magazines where the phones are....don't people have phones on their bedside table anymore? :)

Yes, that's Mister's radio for the fire department...it has to be on the bedside table, too.

I still have some tweaking to do but this is now my very favorite room in the house....we had it all finished when Mister got home from work and he was AMAZED.....he loved it and was so proud of us.

We purchased the curtains & bed cover at Target~

It's hard to tell but the bed cover is light blue and I think it compliments the wall color nicely.

We are still working on the armoire....it had green leaves painted on it...so we've been scraping & staining trying to cover those leaves. It was a little too 'country' for the look we wanted.

I just loved this little pillow...also from Target.

See where the leaves were....I know it will eventually get covered but it's been a chore...

I'm not completely happy w/the display on top of the armoire but it will do for now.

I just love the way it feels when I walk in this room.... it's not dark at all. It feels good.

It's so serene.....I had great partners to help me too. Thanks babies. :)

Have a beautiful day~

Oh, I do love this color! It's masculine yet not so much and very soothing! What a great place for you to relax. I like the bedding too. I really need to do something in my bedroom but it has to go on hold for now. No time or cash. Also, I have to stip wall papper off half the wall so it's going to be a bit time consuming. I also can't believe you don't tape! You're a better painter than me. I can't do it without painting, even with a really good brush to cut in! You're awesome! Me

"Strip" not "stip!"

Hey Jessica!
Oh your room is beautiful! I love that blue...it is very serene, fresh and gorgeous! I love the bed linens you picked out too...it's all perfect! Y'all did such a great job! Now I am so impressed, with the fact, that you didn't tape off anything...honey I could never do that! LOL! I always have to use tape...I wish "momma" could teach me you secret to not having to tape! LOL!
I am so glad that you are feeling better, and I hope you have a great day!
Big Hugs,
Queenie

Hi Jessica
Your new bedroom looks GORGEOUS. I love the shade of blue you chose for the walls and how the bedlinen tones beautifully. The pillow is the perfect finishing touch. It pulls everything together. Glad you had some helpers. Do you hire them out?!!
Thanks for sharing your makeover. I enjoyed it so much.

Good morning Jessica, what a beautiful serene and relaxing room. I love the color blue you chose for the walls. Not to light and not too dark. Your touches of brown in the pillow are a perfect touch. I wish I had another room to paint. I would love to do an all navy and white room with a few touches of another color. But alas, that is not to be.. so I live with what I have. I'm an earthy kind of gal so I have alot of browns and blacks going on with punches of red. Thanks to your honey for allowing us a peek into your private quarters... so glad to see you're improving...hugs ~lynne~
