~ A Hero's Funeral & More~

I took this picture as we were stopped for construction.....is it strange that we are smiling? This was actually on our way home....after a long day full of emotion.....the outpouring of love for Pappa & Mammaw was amazing.

We drove to the hill country....just me & Mister. The Genius left the day before with Mister's parents.

The funeral included bag pipes....they played taps and had a 21 gun salute. Pappa was a veteran of World War 2.
A Hero.

It was very moving....not a dry eye anywhere.

Afterwards, we had a luncheon at this beautiful country church. Most of us changed into more casual clothing as that's just how it is in the country.

I loved the church windows and the church bell.

All around us was God's country....

The Genius'

On the way back Mister and I stopped at a few shops....I'll show you those goodies soon. As we made it into town....we hit traffic so we decided to stop and look at furniture....shopping is good soul therapy right?

We found this set.....sofa, love seat, chair 1 1/2 and ottoman....for a very good price. We will be keeping this place in mind. :)

We've never seen anything like this in a furniture store...they had parrots....monkeys....food....free water, coffee and sodas. The sales people didn't stalk us either....we liked that.

I like this picture of My Mister.

An african grey.

HOME!!
I love the country....but I love this city, too.

Thank you all for your prayers for my family....
Jessica

I'm sure it was a beautiful ceremony and one that would have made him proud.

So did you buy this set? I really like it but with Savannah around it would never, EVER look that good. No matter how hard I try she sneaks food (especially milk) out of the kitchen to the family room and spills it. Guess that's the hazards of having the rooms open to each other. My carpet cleaner broke too so it's beginning to smell a little funky. Hopefully we can buy a new one soon or we'll have to call in the professionals!

It sounds like it was a very beautiful and fitting service. I am very, very sorry for your loss. My heart and thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

Jessica:

I hope you're having a good weekend. Are you planning on painting the house before you move in or are the colors to your taste? Just curious how things are and what exciting things may be happening down your way.

On a happy note, our new backdoor neighbors seem to be really quiet and nice. Whew!! I always worry when a house by me goes up for sale what the new neighbors will be like! Sigh...I envy your new neighbors.
