~ New Treasures ~

Hi friends~

Well, Mammaw came in to town yesterday to stay the week~ Yeah! She brought me a little suprise. My great grandmother & Mammaw both loved broaches and necklaces. Mammaw brought me a few pieces. I remember when I was little playing in her jewelry box~ playing dress up & wearing great grandmothers scarves. Mammaw has promised me a scarf or two also. But right now I am in such a tizzy over these I don't know what to do with myself. :)

Here they are~

Let's take a closer look

These were Great-grandmothers

This was Mammaw's

This one is my favorite~

I think these are far too pretty to be stored away in a jewelry box. I was thinking of framing them in a shadow box for our bedroom. What do you think?

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs~ J

Jessica, Those are amazing pieces. I think that should be a top priority to get them displayed in a shadow box. I'd even consider having it porfessionally done. But, I know you can do a great job yourself! Hugs, Terrie

Enjoy your Mammaw!!

Hey Jessica!
I love these! They are gorgeous and how sweet that she wanted to pass them on to you, makes them so special that they belonged to your loved ones....I collect brooches and pins, but mine are ones I've found and they are not near as pretty as these.....they would look so beautiful in a shadow box...in your bedroom. Hope you are having a great day....I know you and mawmaw will have so much fun this week. Mama's coming to spend the night on Wednesday, we'll have a small party and then Christmas day I'll cook Christmas Lunch and then after Robert gets off of work at 3pm.... we will go up to his mama's to eat supper. Yum!

I want to let you and the other girls know...that If you don't see me around as much it's because I am working on something exciting ...a second blog that is going to be public, I have so missed all of the friends that I was unable to get in touch with before going private, and I feel that they are being left out and that's not at all what I ever wanted....this other blog will be alot of fun with alot of eye candy... featuring vintage finds that I come home with...also coming will be my etsy shop, which I am working on now.... I just got started with listing. It is going to be in the vintage category. How wonderful that etsy is not just for handmade things only. I thought it was, but they let sellers have vintage items in a shop too. Yay! Anyway I am excited about this, and I am working hard on it. It should be ready sometime in January. I will let you and all the other friends know when it's all ready for viewing. Hope you have a wonderful and Very Merry Christmas with your family!
xoxo,
Queenie

Oh, Jessica! How blessed you are to receive these lovely broches!! One time I saw a pretty little velvet pillow and this ladies pins were actually pinned onto it. That way, is she wanted to wear one she could or if she didn't she could just admire them. The little pillow sat on the middle of her bed.
Be a sweetie and Merry Christmas.

Jessica they are lovely! And made all the more so because they belonged to your grandmother and great grandmother, and were a gift to you! I love brooches so much! And I have them in frames and pinned on pillows! I think your idea for a shadow box is a great one! Why leave them in the dark when they can be out and displayed to remind you every time you see them of the people you love *winks* Vanna

Those are so beautiful. There is a lady here in blogland (I wish I remembered which one) That has a beautiful black velvet pillow that she clips her pins too. It is sitting on a chair in her bedroom and it is the most gorgeous thing you ever saw. I think that would be a really fun way to display them. And if you ever do want to wear one...you still have them available. What a sweet gift from your Grandmother.
