~ Our Little Make-over ~

Well, I am just so excited to share this little makeover with ya'll! The genius and I had a total blast re-doing this room.

Here are a few 'before' pictures~ this room is tiny, it's 10 x10.

Sorry this pic. is a little dark~

The writing desk was in here until we moved it into the l/room~ this picture was
taken right after we purchased it ( because there wasn't anything on it, yet :)

I just love this little pillow, it's now in our bedroom :)

As I mentioned in my previous post~ we had to do a little shopping. We bought new curtains, a bed skirt & a few accessories~

I found this blue bowl @ Michaels~

I call it faux vintage :)

We bought the lamp @ Walmart and added the trim~

Note: the picture on the left is Mammaw at the age of 12 & the young girl on the right is My Misters grandmother ~ age 4.

We put a handerkerchief in the oval frame, added ribbon and a sparkly broach.

I also framed some of the pictures I've taken. I uploaded them to Walgreens.com and edited them into black & white pictures. All of the pictures below where taken on Mammaw's property.

It's the road to the lake and the little john boat~

I also framed a few of my sunrise/sunset pictures and one of the lake~
I was trying to bring some 'blue' in the room.

Shelia has been telling me to frame some of my photography forever :) Thank you, my friend!

Now, this BY FAR is my VERY favorite purchase ( and project. ) I found this velvet pillow and the turquoise beads at Walmart ( Friday during lunch :) and I had just oohed and awed over Queenie's monogrammed platter (earlier that morning ) You need to go see it, it's F-A-B! I was so inspired.

Isn't it de~vine?
Gracie has claimed this as "HER" chair~

One more small project and then I'll show you the room :)

The frame & the felt flowers where purchased @ Michaels~

Okay~ here it is~ TADA!!!

I didn't change out the artwork behind the bed~ with the furniture color I thought ( hoped ) it still looked nice~ all 3 of those pieces where bought at Kirklands well over a year ago and I just love them.

I'm still playing with the pictures to the right of the window

Oh, one more little project. I found this picture frame at Target and added black & white pictures~

Isn't it sweet?

The chair is what I call an 'ice' blue~ We brought some turqouise in and black, I think it works. This is a little beyond my normal style~ I'm all creams & browns. Traditional is my usual style.
Well~ I would love to hear what ya'll think about this little makeover~

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs~ J
P.S. Mammaw loves the fact that the chair was able to find a good home and she loves the pictures of her place of course. But I formally had a TON of family photos all over the wall, behind the small desk. I toned it down ALOT~ she wants it back. :)

Vintage faux/faux vintage....I love the sounds of it! I think you were right to keep the pictures you bought at Kirklands too. I do love the pictures you've taken and the blue that they bring into the room. You know what I love best don't you?....the fact that you brought your grandmother's chair and pictures into the room. She'll certainly feel at home! If she wants more pictures back and you like it that way, I say bring them back! Family is everything and how comforting for her to have their pictures around. You and the genius did a fantastic job on the room. I liked it before but I really love it now!
