~ A Special Gift & A Project ~

Hi friends~

I just had to show you this bloom in our garden....everything is just blooming like crazy! More on that on Tootsie's Fertilizer Friday....this week. :)

I have been up to no good this weekend....painting up a storm!

But, Saturday afternoon when Mister got home....he brought in a special delivery. { I was ready for a much needed break }

It was such a nice surprise!

Look what Queenie made with her own two hands....aren't they priceless? Oh, I can't wait to add them to our Christmas tree~ { it's just around the corner you know } You can also find these in her Etsy shop. :)

This beautiful bag with the cutest little pom poms on the bottom~ ADORABLE ~ with the sweetest hand written notes. :)

What a special birthday gift....she is a doll! If you don't visit her blog already, she finds the most adorable treasures....but really....she is a very dear friend.

ALL
of YOU are.

How did I get so lucky?

Thank you so much Christie~ I will cherish them always!!

Now....are you wondering why I have been up to no good this weekend? Paint, paint & more paint. I did have some much needed help...The Genius & Bear were here Friday night ALL night to help. Thank you two!
{ keep in mind this is the before. }

Can you see how the wall color looks a little pink? I promise it wasn't pink when we painted {about 5 years ago....sigh } The color was Sugardust by BEHR. Now, it's something different.

I have never really been happy with the color of the breakfast table and have looked high & low for you one just like it...it has a leaf in it...and we really need that especially around the holidays. But I never found one I likes....so PAINT was the choice. I guess I have been scared....but NOT ANYMORE...lol.

I've always been a neutral kind of gal....

Except....this year I have fallen in love with the color....blue. But I don't want to get too carried away with it. :)

Also, all the projects this year...have been a little different than my normal style....maybe it's changing? I just can't help but feel the breakfast room should be a little bit....country-ish. With my much loved hutch....that I can never part with. Is it okay to have different styles in different rooms?

I'm searching for a fresher look.

I will not be ready for the reveal until next week....Please, keep your fingers crossed that it works out. :)

Then after painting the living room, breakfast room, entry and hallway....I spent Sunday....doing this. MORE painting!

Gotta love my pink scrunchie....that matches absolutely nothing I own...lol. You gotta love him, too....he pretty much lets me do whatever I want around here. :)

Have a beautiful week!

P.S. That picture shouldn't say meanwhile....oh well...it's already loaded. :0)

It looks like you have been up to change in a big way, can't wait to see everything. When Ken and I got married I hated green and I do mean hated. But for some time I have been in what my husband calls my green phase, my house is green, two of my room are still green (son, Kenneth's doesn't count he picked it) but I am coming out of it, wanting and looking at more neutral colors. I guess time will tell where it takes me.
Be well my friend.

busy little lady you are!!! I am excited to see the finished projects! I am tossing around an idea that I saw about painting furniture too...but I am a little scared to try it.
will see if I get the guts...and then I'll have something other than a huge stack of boxes to share! lol

What do you mean, "how did I get so lucky?" You get what you put into a friendship and you're the best! I'm very excited to see your reveal bz I know you've wanted to do this for a long time. It looks good so far! I have my famous hair clips that I never wear other than to paint! They keep my hair out of my face so I understand the scrunchie! I'd say you're getting your money's worth out of it! My favorite part of this post though is your Mister giving you a mini concert while you worked! Too adorable. It just makes you want to hug him, doesn't it?! Have a great day my friend!

Girl, you have been busy busy...I can hardly wait to see the big reveal in your dining room....I know it's gonna be beautiful with that hutch that I've always loved! You are giving me the inspiration to want to paint my barstools, by the way.... how long have I talked about painting them now? LOL! Congrats to you for just getting out that paint and going for it! That's so sweet that your Mister is playing the guitar for you while you paint...I love to hear the guitar.... my son's play their guitars alot. Our youngest is going to play in a talent contest in school the 20th, I can hardly wait. He's excited about it too. That picture of your Mister is so sweet, you should frame that one.
J, I am so glad you liked the package, and you are so welcome. You are such a sweetie, and I am so glad that our paths somehow crossed in this big sea of blogland. I am so glad to call you my friend.
Big Hugs,
Queenie~ Christie

Morning, Dear Jessica! Oh,I'm so excited for you with all your painting going on! How wonderful you have such good little helpers! I love your bedroom painted blue and I would love to do that in ours! I love your little hutch and your dining area. As far as decorating styles go - just go with your heart! If you love it and your family loves it that is all that matters.
Oh, now I know I've said it before, but if you do come down to old Galveston, let me know! I would love to meet you and talk to you face to your sweet face!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Jessica! Oh, it was so nice to hear from you. Oh, I started about a little over a month ago painting my kitchen walls from red to yellow and was going to repaint my cabinets and do some spiffing in the kitchen and a wrench was thrown into my plans. I came down with Shingles! I've had them about a month and am so much better but all my painting had to stop. I just can't do much right now. I am getting much better but I'm so tired some days I can hardly stand up! Well, better days are ahead!
Take care, Sweet Friend.
Shelia;)
