Luau Plans & Cute Projects~

Well, it's almost graduation day~ you know what that means?
I somehow have to transform this....

and this....to a luau theme.

Last weekend I finally sat down with my trusty hot glue gun and started making table decor.

I bought jelly jars, colored sand, ribbon and flowers. I also bought extra small colorful flip flops and hot glued candles and flowers on them. We painted a few colorful lobsters, too. The colors for her party are all vibrant green, blue, pink & orange. We even have a small pig ( still not sure how I feel about that but I agree it will look awesome on the food table. ) As long as my family stops calling it " Babe the Pig " because I liked that movie...lol.

This picture was on her party invitation. See the big Tiki guy...we have 2 of those. I can NOT wait to start setting things up. We are having many activities too. Everyone must come dressed Hawaiian style. We bought 80 leis so everyone can wear one. We have a beach volleyball net, a limbo stick, hula hoops and beach balls. We will have roasted pig ( sigh ), bbq chicken, sausage, potato salad, veggies, fruits and a HUGE graduation cake.

I will show y'all all the decorations once everything is set up.

Here she is before she left for her last day of high school~ EVER.

Yes....she was excited...

Have a wonderful day!

You've already put my little luau to shame. I have to hang my head now in shame and self-pity, lol! These are fantastic decorations. Your pig "Babe" will be the perfect addition. I'm with you though I just couldn't see one sitting there. My nephew had one at his wedding luncheon and it grossed us out! None of my kids would touch the meat (they were 12 and under I believe at the time). I'm excited to see all the decor and the party pics. You're an amazing mom! This is one party she'll never forget for sure! She's so grown up it makes me want to cry. What a beautiful daughter you have, both in spirit and physicially. Enjoy the graduation and the party. I'll be thinking of you and sniffing that southern breeze we get to hopefully catch a whiff of your wonderful roasted pig.

HI Jessicca! Oh, I've missed you but I can see you've been a busy gal. Congratulations to The Genius on her graduation! I know the party will be so cute and so much fun! Don't tell her, but she looks so young! :)
Be a sweetie,

Today's the big day! I think it's pretty fitting that we have a little bit of a southern breeze today. It's like God wanted to remind me of my friend and her big event! I'm hoping to get some good smells coming my way on the breeze. Enjoy the day. It looks like it's going to be a blast and a day the Genius will never forget. What a great mom you are and a great dad the Mister is too to give up his Saturday cooking the pig!
